The Merchant of Venice 1936 Digital Platform takes your data privacy very seriously. We would never share your information with third parties, without your consent. This policy outlines how we collect, use and store your data.

Information that is collected

We may keep, for example, your email address, mailing address or telephone number that is provided by you through means including email, verbal and written contact or providing your information through our feedback survey. By providing this information to us, you consent to us holding this information in relation to the purposes it was provided for.

Use of information

We may use your information to contact you about news or related information.

Disclosure of personal information

We will never sell, share or disclose your information to a third party without your written consent. The Platform is committed to safeguarding your personal information. Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal information (including the Data Protection Act 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Bill). 

Cookies

How to delete Cookies.

Most cookies are easy to delete. Just pick your browser and follow the instructions.

Select a time range.

Select the 'Cookies and other site data' checkbox.

Click the "Clear data" button.

Firefox

Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard.

Select a time range to clear.

Select the 'Cookies' checkbox.

Click the "Clear now" button.

Safari

Choose Preferences from Safari menu.

Go to the Privacy tab.

Click 'Manage website data'.

Click 'Remove All'.

Edge

Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard.

Select the 'Cookies and saved website data' checkbox.

Click the "Clear" button.

Internet Explorer

Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard.

Select the 'Cookies and website data' checkbox.

Click the "Delete" button.

Data security

We take all reasonable steps to protect the data we hold from misuse, loss or unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No website can be completely secure; if you have any concerns that your data may have been accessed, please contact us straight away.

IP addresses

We use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard web server logs which show your unique IP address. This identifies what you have looked at; whether the page request was successful or not; and which browser you used to view the pages. It does not identify any personal detail. This data is only used for statistical purposes to inform us about the usage of the site and how many hits we receive.

If you are within the UK, please address requests and questions about this or any other question about this Privacy Policy to the Platform's Data Protection Officer via the Platform Contact Form

To verify your request, you will be asked to provide copies of two forms of identification, which (Passport, Driving licence, Birth certificate, Current vehicle registration document).
